Sunday

Buddhist Meditation

10 am  - 11 am Every Sunday at Atisha Centre.

Guided Meditation and short introductory talk, followed by chai in the dining room. Fantastic for beginners and experienced practitioners.

 

Monday

Karuna Relaxation Meditation

10.30 Room opens, welcome and chat, 11 am relaxation meditation. at Atisha gifts, 324 Lyttleton Tce, Bendigo .

Every Monday (except school holidays) Phone Helen 0422 742985. It is a good idea to call since this session may change from time to time.
 

Tuesday

Meditation for Beginners

5.45 - 6.45 pm Tuesdays at Atisha Gifts,  324 Lyttleton Tce, in the Bendigo CBD

Buddhist meditation offers a range of techniques that help calm the mind.  Each day most of us experience a ‘roller-coaster’ of emotions from feelings of happiness and contentment to sadness and frustration. Through meditation we can help ourselves experience and develop a more peaceful mind. For information, please call Atisha office 54463336. Recommences February, 2013.


Wednesday  

Medicine Buddha Puja

6pm  in the Small Gompa at Atisha Centre.
Medicine Buddha pujas will be held every Wednesday, except for school holidays, (unless the date is also set for Tara Puja or Guru Puja). The Puja will conclude prior to the teachings. Everyone is welcome to attend this group practice. If you know of anyone who has intense suffering, a life threatening illness or who has recently died, please give the details to the office or contact Ruby. You may also sponsor a puja for some one who is unwell. For details, please contact the Spiritual Program Coordinator, on 035446336 or email spc@atishacentre.org.au.

 Teaching with Thubten Gyatso and others

7.30 pm at Atisha Centre Gompa.
Every Wednesday evening students gather to receive teachings from our most respected Western teachers.

Thubten Gyatso has been a monk since the 1970s and is resident at Thubten Shedrup Ling Monastery. Atisha Centre students are most fortunate to have this opportunity
. Topics covered in 2012 by Venerable gyatso have included Karma and Rebirth; the Bodhisattva's Path; the Bodhisattva's Way of Life.

Dr Ross Moore taught in September, 2012, on Emptiness for Beginners.

Venerable Tenzin Chogkyi taught in October, 2012, on the Heart Sutra.

Venerable Lhundrup taught in November, 2012, on Awakening the Kind Heart and in December,2012, on the Nature of Karma.

Venerable Gyatso will teach again from February, 2013.


Bookings are not required. Please be present in the gompa by 7.25. Your donation to cover facility costs is much appreciated, however there is no set admission fee.
