  • I believe that at every level of society - familial, tribal, national and international - the key to a happier and more successful world is the growth of compassion. We do not need to become religious, nor do we need to believe in an ideology. All that is necessary is for each of us to develop our good human qualities

Lama Tsong Khapa Day

On this day we celebrate the kindness of the founder of the Gelugpa school of Tibetan Buddhism, who lived 1357 - 1419.

Lama Tsong Khapa was a renowned scholar, highly respected monk, realised meditator and great philosopher, who write many influential works. His most important work is Lam Rim Chenmo - The Great Exposition of the Stages of the Path.

On this day, the date varies each year according to the Tibetan Calendar, we hold a guru puja and light offering and recite the Four Line Praise to Lama Tsong Khapa.

Offerings of tea light candles, food or flowers are appropriate.
